Invited through the auspices of the San Francisco Lesbian & Gay Freedom Band, Zaptet enthusiastically entertained attendees at an event celebrating the 20th anniversary of COLAGE, a nonprofit organization supporting children of queer parents.

Zaptet played a diverse selection of music for the luminaries assembled at the event, after which they heard from emcee comedienne Diane Amos, who grew up with two lesbian moms and is perhaps best known as The Pine Sol Lady.

Special thanks to Steven Keys, an occasional French horn player with Zaptet, who arranged two of the pieces we performed. Zaptet was recognized as a $500+ sponsor of the event.

Our dynamic woodwind quintet called the Zaptet is seeking a talented bassoonist to join us for regular rehearsals in San Francisco and performances in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Zaptet provides a safe and supportive environment for musicians of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender
expressions and includes members of the Bay Area Rainbow Symphony and the San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band.
You can see more about us at http://www.zaptet.org including articles on prior performances and what we played.
If you’d like to give us a test run, please consider coming to the next rehearsal 7-10pm on Thursday, May 28.
The following rehearsal is 7-10pm on Friday, June 5.
We have been meeting on Thursday evenings twice a month, and playing gigs every month or two as our members find interesting performance venues.
We are all trying to be flexible with our schedules so we can make it work for everyone.
If you or someone you know is interested, please let us know by contacting stardust@willdoherty.org
